Get ready for a flavour explosion in August's Pour & Sip box, which sees four Scotch whiskies bolstered by a delicious Japanese single malt.
Old Perth 12 Year Old - Aged Collection: Since it was revived in 2014, Old Perth has focused on sherry cask maturation and this 12 Year Old is no different – a great example of classic sherried flavours, it’s brimming with candied citrus, chocolate, spices, and dried fruit.
Cù Bòcan 12 Year Old Caribbean Cask: The newest addition to the Cù Bòcan range this year, it shows a first for the smoky whisky with a rum cask maturation! This is the first batch, distilled in December 2010, which spent its final days in a mix of rum casks from Guyana and Barbados, with the former adding full-bodied spicy notes, and the latter bringing fresh tropical fruits and maritime hints.
Ardnamurchan AD/: This is a core release from Ardnamurchan's AD/ series made with 50% peated and 50% unpeated malt and matured in a combination of 65% bourbon and 35% sherry casks, the latter using Spanish and American oak seasoned with oloroso and Pedro Ximinez sherry respectively.
Hakushu Distiller’s Reserve: The aim of Hakushu was to create a distinctly crisp, gentle whisky. The Distiller's Reserve single malt is a no-age-statement expression that uses both lightly-peated and heavily-peated malts, capturing the smoky, herbaceous nature of Hakushu.
Glenfiddich 15 Year Old Solera: This 15 Year Old utilises the solera method of ageing, more commonly seen in sherry production, so though the minimum age is never less than 15 years, proportions of the liquid will be a lot older. Initially matured in American bourbon, Portuguese sherry, and virgin oak before the solera process, there’s lots of spice and nuttiness in its flavour profile.
