Product details

With American Independence Day falling this month, it was only right we included a fair share of exceptional American whiskeys, with bourbon, rye, and single malt featuring! Though fear not, to back them up we also have two Scotch whiskies with deliciously diverse flavour profiles.

Never Say Die Barrel Strength Whiskey (Barrel No. 6): Distilled in Kentucky from a mash bill of 75% corn, 21% rye, and 4% malted barley and then matured in a rickhouse for around six years, it’s then put on a boat for a six-week journey to England where it’s bottled at White Peak Distillery. The ageing process is accelerated as the whiskey interacts more with the wood over the rough seas, before it’s given a chance to mellow in England’s cooler climate.

Michter's US*1 Straight Rye: This is the Michter's US*1 Single Barrel Straight Rye Whiskey, and each barrel is bottled once it’s reached a desired flavour profile instead of a certain age, one that’s full of chewy rye, milk chocolate, and drying spices. Michter’s toasts its barrels before charring, adding more fruit and spice among the chocolate and mocha notes from charring.

Boulder Peated Malt American Single Malt Whiskey: A lightly-peated American single malt from Colorado, pot distilled entirely from malted barley and matured in charred virgin American white oak barrels.

Kingsbarns Doocot: Doocot shows the evolution of Kingsbarns, with its signature style of tropical fruits and florals bolstered by additional time in the cask. Speaking of which, it’s made from whisky matured in 90% bourbon barrel and 10% STR (shaved, toasted, and re-charred) casks – the addition of the latter is a measured pinch of fruity, spicy seasoning to the light, sweet, and creamy whisky.

Campbeltown Loch Blended Malt: Campbeltown only has three distilleries, and this blended malt brings together whisky from all three of them! The components are the lightly-peated Springbank, heavily-peated Longrow, and the light, fruity Hazelburn from the Springbank distillery, peated Kilkerran from Glengyle, and Glen Scotia single malts. It’s a brilliant way to get stuck into those classic Campbeltown characteristics, with maritime coastal influence, sweet peat smoke, and fresh fruit to balance it out.
