Pour & Sip September 2026 Box

Pour & Sip

£29.95

Once again we’re bringing you top new whiskies hot off the press! Plus a particularly intriguing Danish malt…

The Glendronach - Ode to the Dark: Glendronach, founded in 1826, has become synonymous with rich, sherried goodness. Master blender Dr. Rachel Barrie tells us that “Ode to the Dark enrobes velvet chocolate over dark plum and black cherry, caramelised dates and coffee, to bask the Glendronach in rich splendour.” Here, unlike the other two releases in the distillery’s Master's Anthology, maturation takes place solely in Pedro Ximénez sherry casks. Big, bold, and intense. One for the sherry bomb fans.

Glasgow 1770 7 Year Old Ruby Port Cask Finish (Unpeated): Returning whisky distilling to the city of Glasgow for the first time in a century back in 2015, the distillery produces both peated and unpeated spirit (and some triple-distilled too). Here we have their fresh and fruity stlye - double distilled and unpeated - but this limited edition batch was finished in four Ruby Port hogsheads, producing 1,200 bottles. It is, of course, non-chill filtered and natural colour.

Tormore 12 Year Old: ‘The Pearl of Speyside’ has a brand new core range, launched in July 2026, and we’re wasting little time bringing what we believe to be the highlight into your glasses. Built in 1959, Tormore’s a distillery that broke the mould architecturally, and also features purifiers on all the stills. These increase reflux, condensing heavier vapours and sending them back to the still, which contributes to the spirit’s light, fruity style. This peachy 12 Year Old was aged in bourbon, cream sherry, and toasted American white oak casks.

Fary Lochan 6 Year Old 2016 Single Cask (Master of Malt): Inspired by the traditional smoked soft cheese (fynsk rygeost) his mother made on the island of Funen, which was smoked with nettles, Jens-Erik Jørgensen began distilling a unique Danish whisky using malt smoked with freshly forest-foraged nettles instead of peat back in 2009. Something his family have proudly continued following his death in 2016. Intriguing, herbaceous, and yummy single cask whisky independently bottled by Master of Malt.

Benromach 12 Year Old: Hot off the press once again, the official release date of this new whisky was 3 Sep 2026! Benromach was built in 1898, but its modern era began in 1993 when legendary independent bottler Gordon & MacPhail became owners. It took until 1998 to revive it, at which point they concentrated on an old-school, all but forgotten, lightly smoky Speyside style. Unlike the rest of the Benromach core range, this brand new 12 Year Old is matured exclusively in first-fill sherry casks and bottled at 46% ABV.

    Pour & Sip Whisky Tumbler

    Pour & Sip

    £8.95Regular price

A crystal whisky tumbler glass crafted by those whisky glass specialists at Glencairn. Perfect for leisurely sipping, enjoying a whisky with ice (yes, it's absolutely allowed – it may not be how you'd best assess a whisky – but how you enjoy is it up to you!) or even with a simple mixer for that matter. It's also perfect for cocktails such as the classic Old Fashioned, from which this style of glass sometimes takes its name.

Please note: while the glass itself is dishwasher safe, the Pour & Sip logo is not, so if you want to keep it looking spick and span we'd recommend sticking to hand-washing your tumbler!

    Roberto Grande

    Pour & Sip

    £38.50Regular price

Slovenian whisky? Another country to tick off on your list of whisky discoveries! Broken Bones is a craft distillery founded in 2016, producing whisky and gin. They use local barley and alpine-pure mineral-rich water, and run long fermentations with several types of yeast for over 110 hours. That’s plenty of time for the kinds of additional complexity and fruity esters that flavour-led distillers crave.

While their single malts are released under the Broken Bones name, this adaptable blended whisky is dubbed ‘Roberto Grande’. It brings together their classic/signature ‘Twis’ style of their Broken Bones single malt (fruity and robust with a just a hint of smoke - as opposed to their more peated ‘Kika’ style) with specially selected ‘lively’ grain whisky for a harmonious blend matured in a combination of Slovenian sessile oak ex-brandy casks and American oak bourbon casks.

    Scapa 10 Year Old

    Pour & Sip

    £49.00Regular price

Founded in 1885, Scapa is a fascinating distillery based on the Orkney Islands, but always different in style to neighbours Highland Park. It was mothballed and then had intermittent production from the mid 90s into the 21st century, which contributed to a decade-long wait for the return of age statement releases. Thankfully, at the end of 2024 new 10, 16, and 21 year olds emerged.

The reborn range is all American oak barrel matured, bright, luscious, and tropical in tone, leaning into the Scapa’s historic long fermentations, juicy new make spirit, and fruity character. Uniquely, the wash still (for the first distillation) is an old Lomond still installed in 1959 – the only one of its kind used for whisky making today. Made to be adjustable, here all the extra plates are removed from the wide straight neck, and a purifier increases copper contact on the way to the condenser.

The Glendronach - Ode to the Dark

    Pour & Sip

    £66.25Regular price

Glendronach, founded in 1826, has become synonymous with rich, sherried goodness. Like Benriach last month, its modern reputation was built under the custodianship of previous master distiller Billy Walker, and has continued following Brown Forman’s purchase of the distillery in 2016 under the expert eye (and nose) of master blender Dr. Rachel Barrie.

She tells us that “Ode to the Dark enrobes velvet chocolate over dark plum and black cherry, caramelised dates and coffee, to bask the Glendronach in rich splendour.” Here, unlike the other two releases in the distillery’s Master's Anthology, maturation takes place solely in Pedro Ximénez sherry casks. Big, bold, and intense. One for the sherry bomb fans. (We featured Ode to the Valley last year, which utilises both Oloroso and PX sherry alongside Ruby Port casks, and there’s also a peated Ode to the Embers to hunt out.)

    The Lakes Signature

    Pour & Sip

    £70.00Regular price

English whisky has come of age. Perhaps none more so than The Lakes. Distilling single malt since 2014, their Whiskymaker's Reserve range included the World Whiskies Awards’ World's Best Single Malt in 2022. Signature leads directly on from that range’s seven releases, becoming the first permanent version of their sumptuous sherry-led style. “I don't know anybody else in the world who's doing this", said whisky writer Dave Broom on how they’re using wood.

So erm… what is it they’re doing? The term they use is ‘élevage’, which if you’re not a Cognac or wine buff may need some elaboration… Simply put, they don’t just leave the whisky in the casks, they tinker, taste, intervene, move cask positions, recask spirit, blend during maturation, marry for over a year etc. It's a proactive and demanding way to build and layer flavour (that can also be seriously rewarding).

    Tobermory 21 Year Old

    Pour & Sip

    £140.00Regular price

Tobermory distillery today distills and sells more of their Ledaig peated single malt than their eponymous unpeated single malt. Founded way back in 1798(!), historically the distillery went through periods of producing both peated and unpeated whisky, and even using both names, and it was only in 1996 that the clear delineation was thankfully established.

The Tobermory spirit, with higher cut points, is slightly oily and maritime with a green edge. Aged for an extraordinary 21 years, this whisky started in refill casks, before a long secondary maturation in oloroso sherry casks that were supposedly selected to create flavours reminiscent of foraged fruits from the Isle of Mull. And yes, the town and harbour of Tobermory with its brightly coloured houses is indeed also where the kids tv show Balamory was filmed.

    Toki Black

    Pour & Sip

    £31.99Regular price

"For relaxing times, make it Suntory time." So says Bill Murray in Sofia Coppola's Lost in Translation. But you already knew that. Technically they were talking about Suntory’s Hibiki blends, but Toki is literally Japanese for ‘time’! First launched in 2016 (or a couple of years later in the UK), the original brought together malts from Suntory’s Yamazaki and Hakushu distilleries alongside grain whisky from their Chita distillery.

Toki was built around fresh and fruity (unpeated) Hakushu aged in American oak, but Hakushu also produces peated whisky... You see where this is going. Toki Black, launched Sep 2025, offers a refined smoky twist on an adaptable staple. It’s slightly richer, with both peated Hakushu, and rare Hakushu grain whisky now in the mix. Suntory is Japan’s oldest whisky producer, dating back to 1923 when Shinjiro Torii established Yamazaki not far from Kyoto.

    Tormore 12 Year Old

    Pour & Sip

    £48.95Regular price

‘The Pearl of Speyside’ has a brand new core range, launched in July 2026, and we’re wasting little time bringing what we believe to be the highlight into your glasses. Built in 1959, Tormore’s a somewhat eccentric distillery that broke the mould architecturally, and features purifiers on all the stills. These increase reflux, condensing heavier vapours and sending them back to the still, which contributes to the spirit’s light, fruity style.

Sukhinder and Rajbir Singh’s Elixir Distillers bought Tormore 2022 (they’ve also all-but-built a new distillery on Islay called Portintruan), and doubled down on fruit-forward elegance, returned to older styles of yeast (a mix of distillers and ale yeasts), and extended their long and short fermentations. This 12 Year Old was aged in complementary bourbon, cream sherry, and toasted American white oak casks. Things are looking peachy.
