Product details
A Tennessee whiskey with lots of history here! Uncle Nearest is named after Nathan Green, known as Uncle Nearest by his family and friends. An iconic historical whiskey figure, Green was the first known African-American master distiller in the US, and even taught a certain young Jack Daniel how to make whiskey. The 1856 expression boasts a mash bill of 84% corn along with rye, adding buttery and spicy notes respectively. It’s also put through the Lincoln County Process (something unique to Tennessee whiskey, where the spirit is filtered through charcoal before ageing), before it’s filled into new American oak barrels.
