The One Colheita Cask Finished

England’s Lakes Distillery knows a thing or two about cask finishing, and The One series showcases all of that knowledge. The One range is a blend of grain and malt Scotch whiskies from the Highlands, Speyside, and Islay, though at its heart is The Lakes’ very own single malt.

This particular release was finished in colheita Port casks, though if you’ve been with Pour & Sip for long enough then you’ll also remember the Orange Wine and Moscatel editions that we’ve tasted over the years! The word colheita means 'harvest' in Portuguese, and is used to refer to wines from a single year destined to become vintage Port. These casks add an extra layer of fruitiness to The One blended whisky, so expect red fruit, baking spices, and helpings of creamy sweetness.
