Product details
One of Scotland’s smallest distilleries, Glenturret originated as a farm distillery and claims to date back to 1763. It began as an illicit distillery named The Hosh (Gaelic for ‘foot’), and licensed distilling on the site only started in 1818. Its name only changed to Glenturret in 1875, taking the name from a nearby distillery which had closed 20 years prior – though the name found much greater success with its second iteration.
This is the 2023 release of The Glenturret’s 12 Year Old, dubbed the ‘heart and soul’ of the distillery’s whisky range. Fewer than 60 casks make the cut for each batch, with American oak bringing caramel sweetness to balance the dried fruit and spiciness of the European oak.
