Product details
The history behind Powers goes back to 1791, when James Power founded his distillery in Dublin. It was distilled there until 1976, after which it was produced at the famed Midleton distillery (and continues to be to this day). Powers was the first Dublin distillery to bottle its own whiskey, rather than sell to merchants or bonders to bottle – this proved to be very successful, with Powers Gold Label taking Ireland by storm!
This here is a newer release, a 12-year-old single pot still whiskey named John’s Lane after the distillery where Powers was first made. Matured in a combination of bourbon and oloroso sherry casks, there are notes of citrus and red florals alongside that classic oily pot still character.
