Product details
This is one of the few single malts from Japanese whisky producer Nikka, hailing from its Miyagikyo distillery. Founded by Masataka Taketsuru in 1969, Miyagikyo is Nikka’s second distillery (the first being Yoichi), and is known for its light, fruity, and floral character – though it is made with peated as well as unpeated malt.
This no-age-statement single malt was released as a permanent edition in 2016, showcasing the house style of Miyagikyo. A variety of yeast strains bring estery ripe fruit aromas to the whisky, while sherry cask influence brings dark fruit notes alongside subtle hints of smoky richness.
