Product details
Sweden’s High Coast distillery has had quite the journey! Launched in 2010 and originally called Box Destilleri, the name was then changed to High Coast (or, in Swedish, Höga Kasten, the region of Sweden it calls home). It produces two new makes, unpeated and heavily-peated, the latter of which is used in Timmer, hence its nickname Peat Smoke.
Timmer is Swedish for 'timber', inspired by an old timber sorting plant from the ’70s just 500-metres upstream from High Coast’s riverside location. It’s distilled from Belgian barley peated to around 46 PPM and matured in first-fill bourbon barrels for around six years. As such, there’s lots of creamy vanilla and tropical fruit to be found alongside waves of warming smoke and spice.
