Product details
No prizes for guessing where Glasgow Distillery is based! It’s heavily inspired by one of Glasgow’s original distilleries, founded at Dundashill in 1770, though a combination of the Depression and Prohibition caused the closure of hundreds of distilleries in the city. It wasn’t until 2012 that a determined trio, Liam Hughes, Mike Hayward, and Ian McDougall, worked to bring malt whisky distilling back to Glasgow for the first time in over a century.
By 2015 the first spirit was running off the stills – three stills in fact, Annie, Mhairi, and Tara, named after family members of the three founders. This is a limited release, with the smoky spirit initially matured in American white oak barrels and finished in Cognac barriques. There are just 882 bottles of this complex whisky, released for the Small Batch Series.
